Next CPOA Meeting will be Tuesday, June 13

Join us 7:30 pm in the Senior Center on Golf Club Lane for updates on village news. This will be the Annual meeting at which: 1) residents will vote on candidates for officers and directors 2) residents will vote on suggested change to CPOA bylaws that will no longer require postcard mailings with receipt within 45 days prior to the election/vote. Residents would be advised of the votes in local newspaper, website, email and digitally. Residents will also hear monthly committee and Board reports (BOT, Recreation, Library, Traffic, Environmental) as well as have the opportunity to raise concerns.

A Long History of POAs Advocating for You

  Here are just a few examples of how the POAs responded and supported residents after a concern was raised: Traffic • 2014 : Traffic safety issues were raised at a CPOA meeting which resulted in the initiation of a traffic study for the Central section and hiring Traffic Consultant Creighton Manning Company in 2018.  This report was presented and the GC POAs plan to utilize this study as a pilot to then expand throughout all sections of the village for the improved safety of all residents • WPOA has been raising awareness of traffic/safety issues arising in the 4 areas off the New Hyde Park corridor and are working with Nassau County…

POA Survey: Casino Proposal at the HUB

We are working to gather additional information for residents and trying to set-up a Town Hall meeting with experts and elected officials so that we can all hear more about the proposal. POAs Start 2023 with Combined Meeting

On Tuesday, January 17 three GC Property Owners Associations (POAs) hosted a joint meeting in the St. Paul’s Fieldhouse. The Estates, Eastern and Central POAs coordinated the event. A lot of information was shared as residents heard from Judy Courtney Village Board of Trustee candidate on the CAP (Community Agreement Party) and two candidates for the Central section BOE Trustee position (Liz Cheung-Gaffney and Peter Manley). The CPOA will host a BOE Candidate Town Hall Meeting on February 2 at the Cottages 110 Rockaway at 7:30. The primary for Central BOE will be on February 14 at 110 Rockaway, details to follow. The Village of Garden City is currently conducting a transportation study focused on reducing speeding and dangerous driving. The goal of the study is to create a Traffic Calming Master Plan for the Village of Garden City.
