The four POAs sponsored some old fashion fall fun during October: Fall Festival 10/6 and Halloween House Decorating 10/18-28. The Fall Festival featured a “best in class” pie contest and the winners are: Crème/pudding pie: Chocolate Oreo Pie (Sophia Espana) • Nut pie: Grand Marnier Walnut Pie (Amanda McDavid) • Berry Pie: Strawberry pie (Rebecca Iudica) • Pumpkin pie: Classic Pumpkin Pie (Alicia. ) Fruit Pie: Cinnamon Bourbon Peach Pie (Abby Jessberger) Residents used SurveyMonkey to vote for the the house with the best Halloween Decorations and those winners are: 1st Place: 109 Arthur Street • 2nd Place: 141 Chestnut St • 3rd Place: 135 Whitehall •

The Nassau County Legislature is holding a public hearing onMonday, September 9th at 5pm at 1550 Franklin Ave in Mineola to receive comments from the public on the environmental analysis of the Sands casino. This is a very important hearing, please make your attendancea civic priority!! We must stand together and fight against the casino since our elected County officials are not representing us! Your Voice is critically important – Please make your opposition known and sign up to speak at the hearing! Sign-up sheets will be in the front of the room.
Trustee Muldoon will speak about the new BOT Advisory Committee on St Pauls and Trustee Torino will provide village updates at the CPOA meeting on Tuesday, September 10. The meeting will be held at the Senior Center on Golf Club Lane.

The committee will focus on the strategic planning and future use of the historic St. Paul’s main building on Stewart Avenue. Residents are encouraged to volunteer for this effort.
